The East Broad Top RR built over 200
2-bay and 3-bay hoppers to haul coal from the mines near Broad Top Mountain to the coal
processing plant in Mt. Union. Hopper #965 is an example of the 3-bay design with a
later modification (extended sides) to increase capacity.

More Hopper Details...elsewhere in the
Mt. Union yard are several hoppers that have been tipped over on their sides to remove and
sell the trucks. This gives us an opportunity to view the underside structural features.
